Problem with i730 outer lcd

OK...heres the situation i have an i730 and the outer lcd works when it says nextel...t9 text entry and all that but then it doesnt work once the phone is on regular, i bought a new outer lcd, replaced it, and today i realized the reason the outer lcd isnt working is because the inner lcd wont turn off...when you shut the phone the inner is suposta turn off and the outer go on, so i figured it was something with the magnet in the inner panel, i put in a new inner panel off a working phone and i still have the same sitution, i thought it might b the boards, i swapped out the boards too....no luck

ne suggestions? ne1 know what exactly controls turning the inner color lcd off and turning on the exterior?

Re: Problem with i730 outer lcd

its def a magnet problem the resonr why you see nextell and t9 when you power up is because it shows whether the flip is open or closed, so if you are sure the magnet in in the inner panel the only other thing i could think is if your using a am housing might be to thick and the sensor might not be picking up the magnatisim

hope this helped

so, u think if i change the housing it will most likely fix the problem, b/c it is an A/M housing?

Me and Crusher Recently had the same problem It was the magnet -- We shifted it and pushed it down a bit and It worked -- AM was a Scarface I830 Housing...

Re: Problem with i730 outer lcd

Check your keypad josh.
it should have a notch cut out in line with the magnet in the inner pannel.

Re: Problem with i730 outer lcd

Do me a favor and do what I do in this vid. If you get the same results I did then the magnet is not lining up but if you dont were going to have to take it to the next level lol
