How does the i830 know the face is closed

Okay, two questions in this one.

Firstly, how does the i830 know the face is closed? I recently switched cases, and then switched back to the oem bronze case, however, I've done this a few times, this time it dosent seem to know that it's been closed, it never shuts the LED off or lights the face panel. What exactly did I miss?

And second, where can I get the motorota oem bronze face - on the flip top... I destroyed the original one taking it off.

reason being if I can't fix this shutting issue, I just want to warranty it.

on the inner flip pannel ther should be a magnet I will attach a pic of one from a 730 to give you an ideal of what it looks like as far as getting a panel maybe you could buy a dummie phone if you think you could remove it without ruining it.

Weather you took you 830 apart or not Jeff,you make up in a super personality,at least some body tried to help this guy!
