DO NOT USE QUICKPWN if you want to have a potential software unlock on your 3G iPhone anytime soon. QuickPwn will update your baseband to the new one included in the 2.2 update. This =No Good. Use the PwnageTool to create a custom 2.2 firmware first and then you should be good to go.

ONLY UPDATE TO 2.2 WITH PWNAGE TOOL AND A CUSTOM IPSW if you want a 3G unlock. If you update with the official .ipsw or the regular "update your firmware" that pops up in iTunes, or you use QuickPwn - your baseband will be updated, which means NO software unlock anytime soon for you.

There's no order to doing a carrier unlock or Jailbreak its more a matter of do you need to carrier unlock and that depends on whether you have at&t or not.

If not then your probably going to have to unlock for another carrier.

Otherwise a iphone can be jailbroke without carrier unlock.

Hello, first time using the forum...

slowly finding my way around the site. I'm trying to use iThemeit for the first time. I know how to work the iThemeit program in the sense of adding backgrounds, icons, etc., but my problem is sending a completed theme to my phone. I made sure .Net is installed on my computer, since I kept getting the Jit debugger prompt/dialog box. Figured all that out from other posts on the forum. Other then that my phone isn't jailbroken or unlocked. Which from what I've been reading may be my issue. I have a 16GB, 3G phone with rogers, and the software version is 2.2.1. If any of that info helps in pointing me in the right direction of what to do. Also I use a PC not Mac. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it,
